Research Log 223: Traveling through the desert is a ritual unto itself. It’s no wonder that the people who inhabit these lands are so close to the spiritual. The air is perfumed with the exhalation of Mother Earth herself: warm, radiant, and deep. It’s been raining for hours now. The ground seems to drink from the sky, desperate for water before the rising of the merciless sun. As I gaze at the desert landscape over the rim of my teacup, I can’t help but feel an otherworldly sense of peace.

Breezy, aromatic juniper. Glowing, luminous amber. Cleansing sage and centering black tea. The peaceful stillness after a desert rain. Reliquary is the scent of the Southwest.
